(1)高能的86Kr36離子轟擊靶，氪核與鉛核208Pb82融合，放出1個中子，形成新元素X
(2)120微秒後，X元素的原子核分裂出1個氦原子核，而衰變成另一種新元素Y
(3)600微秒後又再釋放出一個氦原子核，形成另一種新元素Z
